Last week we took the kids to the farm. Our last trip before we all headed to our own destinations with our families. We loaded our kids, snacks and selves onto the estate bus. We traveled to the Farm at Clifford Estates. Some Photos are here.... The farm was similar to a zoo with farm animals to view. The animals had definite personalities especially a few of the pigs. One of the pigs was very interested in us humans and would stand up and look at us with his front legs on the wall of the pen. There was a very pregnant pig walking around and I could feel her pain as she walked with her belly dragging on the ground. I guess every woman has felt like she looked! Then there is the pig with all her babes suckling and the expression on her face was one that I could relate to too! Thank God I only had one to breast feed and not a dozen or more! PHEW!!!
The children liked the goats the most and all of them had a favorite or two or three. We bought some grass for our kids to feed the "kids" . These goats had character too. Our son liked the biggest goat with the grandpa beard. He also was very enamored with the oldest and the youngest goat in the corral.
Next we saw some horses. They were standing around most of the time and we could not decide if the ones laying down were napping or if they were going to pop some babies out. In the end we figured out they were just being lazy. We also were trying to figure out which were male and female. Well we figured that out quick as one of the males was a little bit excited. The children were by that time running around on some playground equipment near by.
We walked some more and found another play area for the kids to release there energy, and also Bumper cars for the older children to ride. We then headed back towards the entrance/exit area and found a lotus pond with a boat ride. The older kids wanted to ride the bumper cars while the smaller children and moms rode on the boat. I took photos so did not ride.
After the morning on the farm it was time to get lunch. We went to the Clifford estate restaurant and had Thai Food. It was quite nice something for everyone. The restaurant serves a little bit of everything Western, Thai, Japanese, and Chinese food. We had satays, green curry, spring rolls, fried rice, and some potato wedges.
The Clifford estate complex is huge and there are approximately 80,000 people living there. It even has it's own hospital. As a place to live though it is a little bit too big for me. But a nice place to visit.
We will definitely take the kids to the farm again. Perhaps I can even take husband and daughter with us too.
